Erna Stevenson

Erna was born and brought up in Hungary as the daughter of a minister in the Reformed Church of Hungary. Her original training was in Agriculture and Economics. She moved to England on the occasion of her marriage to her late husband, the Revd John Stevenson, a minister of the United Reformed Church.

Following the death of her husband in 1995 Erna herself was called to the ministry and did her training at Mansfield College, Oxford.

She was ordained as a Non-Stipendiary minister of the United Reformed Church in 2002. Since then she has been serving as Chaplain to URC ordinands at Mansfield College and as District minister in the Chiltern District. She is also part-time Secretary of the Milton Mount Foundation, a church-related educational charity.

Erna’s special interests are in the field of theology and the arts, and in adult religious education. She loves classical music, the theatre and films and in her spare time she enjoys gardening and cross-stitching.
